Bus and Transportation
Below you'll find transportation suggestions for CCLCS. Unfortunately, there is no official school sponsored transportation. State law does not allow Charter schools to subsidize without providing busing for all students, which is not financially possible for the school since CCLCS students come from all Cape Towns.
Public Transporation
DART and Flex busses operated by the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority serve the school. They are well versed at working with CCLCS Families, so we encourage families to give them a call. For schedules and contact information go to http://capecodrta.org
Carpools
Would you like to investigate carpool? Please email your information (town, with area, your email and the best way to contact you) to info@cclcs.info, then we will post in our weekly Monday family email called 'Notes to Home' in September. Joining our parent Facebook page (The "CCLCS Connection" is also a good way to network for carpools)
Lighthouse Bus
A few years ago a group of parents established a bus service for children from the Upper and Mid Cape areas. The bus is entirely funded by the parents. State law does not allow the school to subsidize the service without providing busing for all students, which is not financially possible for the school.
Registration runs on a first come, first serve basis and often fills up quickly. Here are the key details for you to know:

The bus registration is available for all CCLCS families

BUS 1: West Barnstable Church (Upper Church Lot)

BUS 2: West Barnstable Church (lower green) and Stop and Shop Lot (former Exits 5 & 8)

BUS 3: YMCA (former Exit 6)

The registration fee is $2,200 for the school year, which reflects two rides per school day (to and from school) and is due in full by October 1, 2026. The fee for a second child in the same household is $1,700 for the second child.

If guardians have an outstanding balance from the prior school year (25/26), they will not be assigned a seat until the balance is paid off.

Failure to pay the outstanding balance may result in losing a seat on the bus.

We would strongly advise you to be at stops earlier than the posted times to ensure your child does not miss the bus or are left standing at the stop. Please note that these times may change in the first few weeks of school as it moves along. You WILL be advised of any time changes ahead of time. Please arrive at the bus stop well before the departure and drop times.
You MUST register your student every year.
